Shekhar Ravjiani of the Vishal-Sheykhar music team is releasing his first non-film Hindi pop song, named ‘Rang,’ with lyrics written by Priya Saraiya, the trailer for which was just released and is causing a stir on the Internet. According to the teaser, the song will be poetry in action as the music composer-singer tackles this lovely piece with a distinctive acoustic arrangement. Shekhar says this about the song, “When I composed and sang ‘Rang’ it deeply resonated with me as it has the essence of a classic. Rooted in an Indian ethos but with a Latin-European musical expression, this song is deeply special to me. The teaser gives a glimpse of the beautiful video shot by Ravi Jadhav. Can’t wait for the world to hear and see it”.
Shekhar is a well-known composer, singer, actor, and television personality who has worked on the soundtracks for over 65 Hindi films and has sung and composed internationally recognised tracks with international musicians. Some of his most famous soundtracks, including ‘Anjaana Anjaani,’ ‘Salaam Namaste,’ ‘Om Shanti Om,’ ‘Bluffmaster!,’ and ‘Chennai Express,’ were created in collaboration with Vishal Dadlani. Sufiscore’s ‘Rang,’ a South Asian music label, will be launched on November 29.
Shekhar is a well-known reality show judge and mentor who has appeared on series such as Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star, Saregamapa, Indian Idol, Dil hai Hindustani, and ‘The Voice’ India.
