Deepika Padukone as Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Bhatia appears in multiple sequences in the 83 song Lehra Do, as does Neena Gupta as the cricketer’s mother.
83, Kabir Khan’s new sports drama, has released its first song. The triumph hymn, titled Lehra Do, stars Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev as he and his team turn disappointment into success by winning the Cricket World Cup as underdogs. “Gear up for glory!” Ranveer commented on Twitter after sharing the song. Arijit Singh sings the exciting song, which was written by Kausar Munir and features Pritam’s music.
The music video begins with a dejected Indian cricket team losing one match after another, much to their fans’ dismay. A young fan informs Ranveer Singh’s Kapil Dev that he will not attend the next match because the Indian team never wins. They do, however, decide to fight and go on to make history, as the entire country rejoices in their victory.
Deepika Padukone as Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Bhatia is also seen in several scenes as she stands by his side during the difficult moments. Even Neena Gupta appears briefly as Kapil Dev’s mother. Arijit Singh’s fans praised the song, which was released on the same day as his other song Rait Zara Si from the film Atrangi Re. On the YouTube video, a fan wrote,

83 is more than a movie, according to Ranveer. Raveer wrote on his instagram, “This is not just a movie – it’s a glorious tribute to that moment in Indian history that changed it all! It’s about the great achievement of the Indian Cricket Team of 1983 – ‘Kapil’s Devils’! These men are legends, and it’s an honour to be a part of the cinematic telling of their iconic story on the big screen! Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous and loving messages! Kaptaan Kabir Khan, it’s everything you dreamed of! Take a bow”.
