Steve Harvey, the host of Miss Universe 2021, was chastised on social media for requesting Harnaaz Sandhu to make animal noises during the ceremony.
Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu has been chastised by Steve Harvey for making her do a cat impression during the Miss Universe pageant last week in Israel. When Steve addressed Harnaaz about her accomplishments while interviewing the Miss Universe contestants on Sunday, she was taken aback “I’ve heard you can imitate a variety of animals rather well. We’d want to hear your greatest one.”
“Oh my god, Steve, I wasn’t expecting to perform this on the world stage,” Harnaaz laughed. “I have no choice but to do this,” she continued. She began meowing like a cat after that. Steve then went on to the next participant and began asking them questions.
“What in the living hell was this about?” one person tweeted, slamming Steve’s performance. Miss India Harnaaz Sandhu was instructed to make an animal impersonation as the other contenders were quizzed about their achievements, and she meowed on stage. I’m curious as to who posed this question to her. #MissIndia #MissUniverse #SteveHarvey.”
“She didn’t just go there and meow on her own,” another person inquired. Why don’t you inquire as to why Steve Harvey asked her that ridiculous question while other girls were given the opportunity to speak in front of the audience about their achievements? She is pursuing a master’s degree while also working as an actor and model.” “Ridiculous,” wrote another after watching the video of the on-stage event.

Some individuals praised Harnaaz for her professionalism in addressing the situation. “Bravo Harnaaz for taking the craziest topic ever given in the beauty pageant stage, with frankness, and carrying it off with grace,” one person tweeted. It’s no surprise that you’ve won people’s hearts.” “Jokes and giggles aside, asking a Miss Universe contestant to meow on stage is plain odd,” one person said. Harnaaz handled it with a sporting demeanour, so kudos to her. That crown went to my girl as well. Congratulations!” Harnaaz, an Indian beauty queen, won the Miss Universe contest for the first time in 21 years. Only two Indians had won Miss Universe before the 21-year-old model from Chandigarh: actresses Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000.
Sushmita and Lara congratulated her on her victory. Sushmita resorted to Instagram to express her feelings, writing, “#yehbaat ‘Har Hindustani Ki Naz’ Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu #MissUniverse2021 India. So proud of you! Congratulations @harnaazsandhu_03 Thank you for representing India so beautifully, for bringing back the Miss Universe Crown to India after 21 years (by a 21-year-old, you were destined). May you enjoy every moment of learning and sharing this incredible global platform @missuniverse will provide you… May you reign supreme!!! My love and regards to your Maa and family… bohut bohut Mubarak #jaihind #duggadugga #waheguru_ji_ka_khalsa_waheguru_ji_ki_fateh.”
