Emma Watson will confess she wanted to leave the Harry Potter series during the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts reunion.

According to footage from the upcoming Harry Potter reunion, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, Emma Watson was on the verge of abandoning the successful franchise. In the series, the actor played Hermione Granger. When the first Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, was released, Emma was only 11 years old. In the eight-part series, she played Hermoine for a decade and became well-known as the imaginary character.

According to Comicbook.com, in the reunion episode, director David Yates of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix reveals that he was advised by the studio during filming that Emma ‘wasn’t sure whether she wants to come back.’ Emma claimed to be “frightened” and “lonely” at the time. “I believe I was terrified. I’m not sure if you’ve ever felt like it reached a point where you thought to yourself, ‘This is kind of forever now.’ “She stated “Things started getting hot for all of us around the time of Order of the Phoenix,” she added. Fans wished for the cast’s success, but the actor noted that the popularity had ‘struck home.’  “The fame thing had finally sunk in – and it had done so in a huge manner. No one had to persuade me to follow through. The fans sincerely wished for my success, and they all genuinely care about one another. How fantastic is that? “she stated.

Emma wasn’t the only one wondering about her future in the franchise; her co-star Rupert Grint was as well. “I was thinking along the same lines as Emma, envisioning what my life would be like if I called it a day.” We never really talked about it. We were kind of in the moment at the time, so we were probably just moving at our own pace. He stated, “It just didn’t occur to us that we were all probably experiencing similar sentiments.”

Harry Potter and the 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will be released on January 1. The programme will air on HBO Max in the United States, while Amazon Prime Video in India will broadcast it.
