From Beena Tripathi to Neeti Singh, five roles that prove her mettle
Rasika Dugal has reached the age of a year. While some may remember Rasika as the fiery Beena Tripathi from the Mirzapur series, others may recall her as Safiyah Manto, the bespectacled woman with inner strength who married novelist Saadat Hasan Manto in Nandita Das’ highly acclaimed film Manto. Regardless of where you first saw Rasika Dugal or which of her performances you prefer, we can all agree that the artist consistently delivers remarkable performances on television, regardless of the length of her screen time.
Rasika Dugal made her acting debut in 2007 in the film Anwar, in which she played a minor role. She appeared in a number of films, television shows, and series over her ten-year career. Rasika has developed as one of the top names that come to mind when one thinks about professional actors in showbiz, particularly in the recent years of the OTT revolution. Mirzapur 1 and 2
Many people were surprised by Rasika Dugal’s portrayal of the fiery Beena Tripathi in the criminal drama series Mirzapur. She’s fragile yet cunning, and she knows how to make it as a survivor in a world dominated by men.
Delhi Crime
Rasika provided viewers a peek of a bold and idealistic police officer in Delhi Crime’s Neeti Singh. Rasika’s acting in the seven-episode series based on the horrible 2012 Delhi gang-rape case, which went on to win the Best Drama Series award at the International Emmy Awards, was praised by both audiences and reviewers.
Out Of Love
Rasika Dugal plays doctor Meera Kapoor in the show Out Of Love, in which she discovers that her husband Akarsh (played by Purab Kohli) has been cheating on her. Rasika excels in this role, as she transports us into the thoughts of a lady who has been betrayed in love, is grieving, and craves vengeance.
Made In Heaven
A nine-episode web series created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, explores the peculiarities involved in the drama that is Indian weddings through its protagonists, wedding planners Karan and Tara. In one of the episodes, Rasika Dugal plays Nutan Yadav, a bride who is forced to marry a boy against her will in order to further her father’s political ambitions. Despite the fact that Rasika only appears in one episode, she makes the most of her time on screen to show off her talent.
