The trailer of the much-awaited movie saw the light of the day on February 4, 2022, and it is everything one could have hoped for. Based on one of the chapters from Hussain Zaidi’s iconic book, ‘Mafia Queens Of Mumbai’ Gangubai Kathiawadi is a deep dive into the brutal truths of the red light districts of Mumbai. It portrays a picture as clear as the water of the ruthlessness in the way sex workers and in fact, all the females belonging to that area were constantly subjected to.

Beginning with a thud of Alia owning the room already, she makes it clear from the start that viewers are going to be hooked to her acting. Despite thousands of people shouting the slogans of ‘Gangubai Murdabad’, our queen walked through them as if walking an aisle to claim her reward. As the story goes, it shows Gangubai rising from the ashes time and again, gaining solidarity from her morbid past and pledging to not let any other lady in her view to undergo the gruesome expenses of mankind that she endured. Being a female-protagonist movie, the trailer shed just the appropriate amount of light on the male cast. Definitely, Shantanu Maheshwari, Ajay Devgan, Jim Sarbh, and also Vijay Raaz added the perfect amount of intensity to an overall grueling aura.
