Bollywood Superstar Ajay Devgn has commenced the shooting of the second installment of his blockbuster crime thriller Drishyam. Taking it to Twitter, Ajay announced the news. He shared a photo with the caption ‘Can Vijay protect his family again? #Drishyam2 shoot begins.’ The picture had Ajay looking intense, portraying the role of Vijay Salgaonkar. He can be seen with the director and Shriya Saran who is playing the role of his wife in the movie. The second installment is directed by Abhishek Pathak. Apart from Ajay Devgn, the movie also co-stars Tabu, Shriya Saran, and Ishita Dutta.
Drishyam 2
The team has begun the shooting for the second installment in Mumbai and is scheduled to shoot extensively in the coastal state of Goa in the upcoming months. Drishyam 2 comes after seven long years of a wait after the first installment was released in 2015 which was a super-hit at the Box-office. The movie was directed by Nishikant Kamat and was a Hindi remake of Mohanlal’s Malayalam film with the same name and the movie left the audience intrigued.
Commenting on Drishyam 2, Ajay said “Drishyam was loved and it’s a legend. I am now elated to present yet another interesting story with Drishyam 2. Vijay is a multidimensional character and he creates an engaging narrative onscreen. Abhishek Pathak (director) has a fresh vision for this film. I’m keenly looking forward to part 2, filling in the large shoes of the earlier film with people investing in the mystery and the characters.”
As of now, there has not been any announcement regarding the date of the release of the second installment but if the speculations are to be believed, Drishyam 2 could see a release this year.
