It’s not a good time for Bieber’s heart that is because singer Justin Bieber revealed in an emotional Instagram video that he’s been diagnosed with the rare Ramsay Hunt syndrome. The virus has caused paralysis to half of his face & affected nerves in the front through a shingles attack. The 28-year-old singer was on the first lap of his Justice tour in North America, but he had to cancel a few of his shows in Toronto, Washington DC, and New York.
In his three-minute-long video, he said, “It is from this virus that strikes the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves. It has resulted in my face having paralysis.” In the video, he tried blinking and moving his eyes, but parts of his face would not respond.” As you can see, my right eye is not blinking. I am unable to smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move, so there’s complete paralysis on this side of my face.” He further shared that he has been doing facial exercises to recover.
JB’s last album, Justice, was released in March 2021, and it has been certified platinum in the US and got second on the UK album charts. The North American leg of his world tour was going to end in July. However, now due to his condition, everyone, including Justin, is not sure about the resuming dates of his tour.
In the video he uploaded on his Instagram, he stated, “So for all those who are disappointed by my cancellations of the next shows, I’m just physically, clearly unable to do them. I wish this weren’t the case, but evidently, my body is telling me I must slow down. I hope you guys comprehend, and I’ll be using this time to just rest and relax and get back to 100% so I can do what I was born to do. But in the meantime, this isn’t it. We don’t know how long it will be, but it will be OK. I have hope and faith in God. I trust it is all for a reason. I’m not sure what that is right now, but in the meantime, I will rest.”
Many celebrities, including Biber’s wife, wished him a speedy recovery.
