Harvir Singh Nehwal, the father of ace badminton player Saina Nehwal, has criticised Siddharth’s harsh post against his daughter. Saina’s father asked that the actor apologise. For the uninitiated, Siddharth reposted a post by Nehwal on January 6 in which she voiced her concern over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security lapse during his Punjab visit due to protesting farmers blocking the highways. ‘No nation can claim to be safe if the security of its own prime minister is jeopardised,’ she wrote in a tweet. In the clearest possible terms, I denounce anarchists’ heinous attack on Prime Minister Modi.Subtle cock champion of the world… Thank God we have protectors of India. Folded hands. Shame on you Rihanna’.
Harvir Singh Nehwal, Saina’s father, informed ANI that he has gone over all the details and that the actor used inappropriate language against his daughter. ‘I’ve gone over everything in detail. What he (Siddharth) mentioned was incorrect. I learned that he is a well-known actor in the South. He said some hurtful things about Saina. It’s very unacceptable for him to make such disparaging remarks.” Saina is presently in Delhi, practising for the India Open 2022, according to Harvir. “I spoke with Saina over the phone, and she expressed her displeasure with someone writing about her. Even other organisations, such as the National Commission for Women, came out in support, saying that it was very horrible and that they had never heard such things from a gentleman,’ Harvir added. ‘We condemn his remarks, and he should apologise for his acts, whether they were given purposefully or unwittingly,’ he continued. It is not good for a lady to be addressed in this manner.’
