Namita Thapar, who starred as one of the main sharks on Shark Tank India, discussed her investments and regrets.
Namita Thapar, the executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, discussed her Shark Tank India investments and the regrets she had after the show finished. Namita talked about missed chances’ and being ‘weak’ as a corporate leader in a new article. “I watched approximately 170 pitches and invested 10 crore in 25 firms that touched my heart,” Namita confessed on the show, adding, “I saw around 170 pitches and spent 10 crore in 25 companies that touched my heart.” I put in a total of Rs. 7 crore at the event and Rs. 3 crore afterward in transactions I had missed out on and a few existing agreements to expand my share.”
She went on to discuss her ‘greatest regrets’ about not supporting specific company concepts in her essay on YourStory. “As future leaders, we must champion not only founders who can expand and profit for us, but also those who have incredible potential, are solving a real problem, but lack the necessary mentorship to establish momentum in their businesses.” “Leaders like me need to be courageous, back such founders, and help they succeed so that entrepreneurship becomes a dream for everyone, not just those with the necessary education and resources,” she continued in her post. This is one of our basic obligations as business leaders who have been bestowed with power and privilege, and who people look up to… and my biggest regrets on Shark Tank India are not investing in Kamlesh and Pandurang.”
On Shark Tank India, aspiring entrepreneurs submitted their business ideas to a panel of tycoons, or sharks, who gave their money and expertise in exchange for a piece of the action. Ashneer Grover (co-founder and managing director of BharatPe), Peyush Bansal (co-founder and CEO of Lenskart), Aman Gupta (co-founder and chief marketing officer of boAt), Vineeta Singh (CEO and co-founder of SUGAR Cosmetics), Ghazal Alagh (co-founder of Mamaearth), and Anupam Mittal (co-founder of Mamaearth) were among Namita’s fellow shark (founder and CEO of People Group and Shaadi.com).
