‘You’re all spoiling my movie,’ says the director. After meeting on the set of Brahmastra, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor began dating. On September 9, 2022, the film will be released.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are now in Hyderabad for the poster launch of their film Brahmastra. During the premiere, filmmaker Ayan Mukerji revealed that he is causing delays in the couple’s lives.
The love story between Alia and Ranbir began in 2017 when the two began filming for Brahmastra. Ayan stated at the event that he has been preventing the couple from going out together. Ayan expressed his thoughts on the subject, “To be honest when we started our film, I thought this is the best casting- Ranbir and Alia, powerhouses. It was just too good. Then Ranbir and Alia became very good friends, then very very very good friends in life, then more than friends. So then, I didn’t want the whole world to see them for these 4 years. I didn’t want anyone to see them till my film had not come out. So, Lots of things haven’t happened in their lives because every time they went out together, I would be sitting at the back saying ‘you all are ruining my film. Please don’t go anywhere.’ It feels good now that we can share them.”
The project’s backer, Karan Johar, then responded to Ayan’s comments. He stated, “Ayan is very protective about this pair. But, I think he has lost leverage. Had he come out with this film a few years ago then keeping them under wraps would have been a good idea. Unfortunately, you can’t curb love that long. At its heart, it’s a love story.”
According to Variety, Brahmastra is about Shiva (Ranbir) and his quest to uncover the enormous power within him, “Brahmastra, is very inspired by Indian mythology and Indian culture and set in the modern world with modern characters, so in many ways, it is a modern mythology of our own. And in that modern spectrum, Mr. Bachchan plays the role of what Professor Dumbledore is to Harry Potter, or what Gandalf the wizard is to Frodo Baggins — he plays the wise teacher guide, who helps Shiva’s character to actualise his powers and find his destiny.”
