Chris Brown is accused of raping and drugging a woman
In Miami, Florida, Chris Brown is accused of drugging and raping a woman. The 32-year-old “Go Crazy” singer is being sued for $20 million, according to court records viewed by PEOPLE and filed in a Los Angeles County Court on Thursday. The accuser, “Jane Doe,” is a professional dancer, model, musical artist, and choreographer, according to the complaint. On Dec. 30, 2020, while in Miami, Doe claimed she was FaceTiming with a male acquaintance who was aboard a yacht anchored at Sean “Diddy” Combs’ house. According to the complaint, Brown allegedly took the friend’s phone and told Doe that “he had heard about her music and recommended her to hurry over to Diddy’s estate on Star Island as soon as possible.”
Doe claims the singer served her a mixed drink in a red cup after she boarded the yacht. According to the records, they discussed her musical ambitions and “Brown offered her ideas about launching a career in the music industry.” She claims she “began to feel a sudden, unexplained change in awareness” after he allegedly replenished her drink, and she “felt bewildered, physically unsteady, and started to go in and out of sleep,” according to the lawsuit.
The singer is accused of dragging the “drugged” and “half-asleep” Doe into a room, locking the door, and preventing her from leaving. He allegedly “threw[ed] [Doe] on a bed” and kissed her, according to the documents. According to the lawsuit, she “mumbled” with him to stop, but he “ignored” her. Brown is accused of raping Doe and then “jumping up and announcing he was ‘done.'” Brown’s lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment from PEOPLE. Diddy’s representative has yet to respond.
