Jackie stated that he was unconcerned about it and offered Twinkle a quick lesson in self-acceptance. “Chalta hai sab, dude,” he said. What’s up, kaun dekhta hai? Who cares? We go to photograph cultures because they’re gorgeous and sensuous. It’s a present.” Jackie told the assembled reporters during the promotional tour for their film Happy New Year that he always advised his son, Tiger, to emulate Shah Rukh Khan, and that he was concerned about SRK’s well-being. Jackie referred to Shah Rukh as “the king.” “Bhidu, bahut achha ladka hai, Upar jitna hasta hai, jitna khush rehta hai, jitna dikhata hai, bahut akela hai, Pahaad ke upar jaake dekh, Raja hai na, matlab bhidu. (He is a really kind kid, a very deep person.) Matlab bottom se upar ayela hai aur pakad ke rakhela hai aur aaa bhi apne aap ko bachcha ke jaisa rakha hai (He may appear to be content, but he is actually quite lonely. Isn’t he a monarch? You’re always alone at the top. He does, however, have a youthful element to him).”
“Haqeeqat hai,” he added. Mukaam apna upar, pahunch gaya baba. King Uncle, wahan shuru kiya tha, kone mein, aur aaj baba upar hai. It’s the truth. Kuch badla nahi hai, waise ki waise hai, bahut dildaar bachcha hai, par bahut akela hai. (He has triumphed. He began at the bottom and has now ascended to the top. When we were working on King Uncle together, I noticed him alone in the corner. He hasn’t changed at all; he is still the same. He’s a kind guy, but he’s lonely).”
Jackie was joined by his old pal Suniel Shetty on the discussion show Yaaron Ki Baraat, who recounted a storey about Jackie’s unique style and how impressed he was. When Jackie sauntered in from behind, he added, they were at an event with an unknown Maharashtra chief minister. “Yeh aise aaye, aise karte karte, bole, ‘Kya bhidu?'” Suniel remarked, imitating Jackie. Riteish Deshmukh, who was stepping in for the CM in the recreation, was slapped on the back by Suniel.
