Of course, that was on Independence Day, whereas Satyameva Jayate 2 will be released on Thursday, with no holiday.

The producers went to great lengths to ensure that the message around the Thursday release was heard loud and clear by the intended audience. If the results are positive, they may be confident that the shows will not be touched for the first week at both single-screen and multiplex venues.

From a box office standpoint, a first day gross of 6-7 crores would be ideal for the John Abraham starrer, given that these are still not 100% typical times and Maharashtra is only permitting 50% occupancy. Of course, because of the North Indian setting, Satyameva Jayate 2 will not have the same impact as Sooryavanshi. Still, limitations are limitations, and it will all come down to how much appreciation Milap Zaveri and Nikkhil Advani’s Emmay Entertainment picture receives. That would put it on track for the long weekend of four days.
