Minor changes made to Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, CBFC issued UA certificate

The Central Board of Film Certification has given Alia Bhatt’s next film Gangubai Kathiawadi a UA certificate (CBFC). It was also subjected to some minor alterations.

The Central Board of Film Certification has given the Alia Bhatt-starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi a UA certificate (CBFC). There are other small cuts as well. The film will be released on February 25th, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film Gangubai Kathiawadi will also be shown at the Berlin Film Festival in 2022.

UA CERTIFICATE FOR GANGUBAI KATHIAWADI

Last July 27, Alia Bhatt completed the filming of Gangubai Kathiawadi. According to reports, the duration of the picture has been shortened by barely a minute or two out of the total changes made. A sequence in which India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, is seen planting a rose on Gangubai has been changed.

Gangubai Kathiawadi is a biographical crime drama based on the novel Mafia Queens of Mumbai by Hussain Zaidi. The film is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and produced by Jayantilal Gada. Gangubai Kathiawadi also stars Ajay Devgn and Shantanu Maheshwari in addition to Alia Bhatt. The upcoming film tells the story of a woman named Ganga, played by Alia, who transforms into a madame named Gangubai in Kamathipura’s red light district. The storey depicts her rise to power as she faced one difficulty after another.
