The legendary Indian nightingale Lata Mangeshkar took her last breath in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Sunday morning, February 6, 2022. She was admitted to the hospital after testing COVID positive earlier in January this year, while the singer was diagnosed with post-COVID-19 induced pneumonia. 

According to the doctors, Lata Mangeshkar’s health condition had deteriorated again on Saturday, and she was put on a ventilator and kept under observation. 

Many celebrities, politicians, and people from the music industry tweeted and expressed their grief on Lata Mangeshkar’s demise. 

MNS Chief Raj Thackeray rushed to Breach Candy hospital to meet the veteran singer. CM Uddhav Thackeray showed his great sadness on the death of Lata Mangeshkar and said that he is ‘heartbroken’. A.R Rahman tweeted and expressed his sadness at the singer’s demise. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted “Lata Didi’s songs brought out a variety of emotions.
